Why should General Motors and Chrysler get any more federal aid?

The Associated Press is running an article stating that GM and Chrysler could get up to an additional five billion dollars in the form of a federal loan.

What???

Why on earth should they receive any more federal support? This is absolutely ridiculous. General Motors, Ford and Chrysler have for years in my opinion made inferior products at higher prices. There is no sense to giving a sinking ship that is on fire more fuel.

I wonder if the people running the Auto Industry Financing Program are receiving any kickbacks from the automakers? It wouldn't surprise me.
