Snow Driving

Published over 4 years ago

No, this has nothing to do with war driving, its just plain old driving around in the snow.

Yesterday, we had some serious snow action here in Massachusetts, and while my Toyota handled fine on most of the roads, it had some serious problems with the hill that I live on. I think that having one tire a little bald made the effort practically pointless.

Recently I rotated my tires and noticed that one was a little low on the tread, and I told myself I should rotate them again soon. Now I think I should rotate them as soon as possible, and then buy two new ones shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately while I was struggling to get up the hill to my house, I think I might have put my front-end out of alignment, as the car shudders a little when I hit 60 miles per hour. Oh what fun!

UPDATE: I think that the alignment is OK - the wobbly feeling went away, must have been some snow / ice stuck in the wheel causing it to be out of balance. Once that melted, the balance was restored. :-) I really didn't want to have to pay for a front-end alignment.
