I bought a Black & Decker power inverter from Amazon awhile back - only $18 or so WITH FREE SHIPPING, and it was totally worth it. My wife and I went on a road trip (6 hours) last weekend and the power inverter kept my laptop running the entire time. No "burning smell", only quality power.

If you ever go on long trips and need electricity, definitely buy one of these!
