Jiffy Lube Air Filter Pricing Error
Published almost 5 years ago
| I went into Jiffy Lube today with a $5 coupon, expecting to pay a fair price for an oil change on my 2005 Toyota Corolla. The lowest price is $34.95 for their Signature Service, and I was offered two air filters, one for $5.99 and one for $12.99. I repeated the price quoted to me, and displayed on the screen back to the customer service representative, and even summed them up, "Both of them for $20?". Yes, that was the price I was expecting. |
At the register, the total came to $99, with the coupon. Ugh, what? Needless to say there was a pricing error. What I expect to cost $50 came to $100. Not cool. The cashier took off another $20, but I still ended up paying more than $25 than I expected. I am considering having my credit card company dispute the charge because I don't like to haggle with retail store clerks. It was an honest mistake, but I don't want to have to pay for it.
By the way, the buy one get one free coupon is a bit of a joke to me. You have to send in the form by June 4th, but then the coupon expires in September of 2007. I only get my oil changed twice a year, or every five thousand miles, whichever comes first. I drive a Toyota Corolla and that's what Toyota recommends, so I'll take their advice. The coupon form goes into the trash!
