Air Car Ready for Mass Production

I just found this at ecogeek.com:
Air Car Ready for Mass Production
This is a great article about a new car (not made for the US) that will be hitting the streets in India. Instead of gasoline, it uses compressed air to move it along. The article's author makes a good point about the fact that energy is still required to compress the gas, and in India they use coal to generate the majority of their electricity. However, there are companies at least in the US that are starting to use windmills to store compressed gas.
UPDATE: Here's an interview with Miguel Celades, sales manager for the Air Car.
rae says:
They say necessity is the mother of invention. This is fantastic for the environment, if they used windmills to compress the air there would be no debate as to how energy efficient and Earth friendly these cars would be.
I found an article on cnn that discusses the air car and it's feasibility. At $18,000 it's practically a steal if you compare to what you'll save in gas.
As for the weight of the car that's a cause for concern if all the cars on the road are made of similarly light materials it's not really a big deal, but when steal meets foam there is no doubt which will prevail.
My concern is the safety of the vehicle... parts that are glued together sound more like an 8 year olds art project than a car. Doesn't heat unbind glue?
